Do you have friends, whose little one has started sleeping longer stretches at night or even through the night, yet your little darling is up SEVERAL times, EVERY night? I really feel for you, I was that sleep-deprived mommy. I dreaded bedtimes, I mean, we had a good, consistent bedtime routine from birth, I would do the usual checks- make sure the room was the right temperature, they were dressed in comfortable clothing, were not in pain (e.g. not teething) and fed well. Goodnight kiss and cuddles….and bam!!! 2 hours later….the crying started….and that would go on THROUGH the night! I was, or had (according to hubby) losing my mind. Until I made one small change when my daughter was 5 months old and my life changed. I bought these and it honestly made a huge difference, my daughter started to nap better in the day, which meant she was not a cranky mess come the evening, and bedtime time was sooooo much calmer. Over the month, she got better and better at sleeping and then one day…I remember it clearly she had just turned 6 months old and she slept the WHOLE NIGHT….12 hours straight!!!! I, of course was up, wondering if she was okay- typical mommy behaviour, right? She continued to sleep through the night (unless she was ill or teething) and I learned to relax and get that much needed sleep. Until, I found out I was pregnant with number 2, oh boy! but I will tell you all about that another time. For me personally, having the easy blackout blind kit, worked amazingly at blocking out the light. My two are now 4 and almost 3 years old and I still have them in their bedrooms. It’s really easy to fit (put the tape on the plastic frame of your window and stick on the blind fabric). They are super versatile; you can quickly pop up the fabric at night and pull it away in the day. I already have fabric curtains in place, which provides an additional layer for complete darkness-perfect in the summer. Oh, and they even help with the dreaded clock changes.

My thoughts exactly, I had just started to get some well-needed sleep and we decide to go on holiday.The easy blackout blind kit, were great for home but it is difficult to remove the Velcro tape. I was talking to a friend about my dilemma and she raved on about the Gro Anywhere portable blackout blind. They sounded too good to be true, but I was desperate, our holiday was looming, so I took the plunge and bought it. They were the perfect temporary solution for us. It folded up easily in our suitcase and it was super easy to use (basically suction cups that stick to the window). We have two of these now and absolutely love them.
What if you want to go out and about in the day?
Whether at home or on holiday, I get that you don’t want to be tied to the house or hotel room for naps, so I also used this for the outdoors.The SnoozeShade has been brilliant, I use it for sun protection and when on holiday, I would use it in the evening’s to help my daughter sleep. It’s also great at keeping out the mosquitoes. I love it!. My baby slept, whilst I had a Gin & Tonic!
